Electrical Installation Condition Reports


All electrical installations deteriorate with age and use. Electrical Installations (Domestic, Commercial and Industrial) should be examined and tested at appropriate intervals to check whether they are in Safe working condition for continued service. Such checks are commonly referred to as:

Periodic inspection and testing
Electrical Installation Condition Report
Landlord Certificate
Electrical Safety Check

The right name for all of the above is an Electrical Installation Condition Report
Electrical Installation Condition Reports are recommended every:

10 years for House, Bungalow or Flat.
5 years for a rented House, Bungalow or Flat.
3 years Commercial
3 years Agricultural and horticultural
3 years Emergency Lighting
1 year Restaurants and Hotels
1 year for a swimming pool.

Other times when a Electrical Installation Condition Report should be carried out are: 

Before a property is rented.
When selling or buying a property.

Mi Charge Electrics will issue an Electrical Installation Condition Report, showing any noted damage, defects, deterioration, dangerous situations and any non-compliances with the present-day British Standard that might give rise to danger. We will also automatically present a quotation listing the correction work required.

An Electrical Condition Report should be carried out by a Qualified Electrician carrying the right City in Guilds Qualification, (City in Guilds 2391), which is the Test and Inspect qualification.

It is important that the Inspection covers all aspects of Inspection and testing to make sure the Installation is safe for use.
